Hope holder…that’s what Jessica feels her role is as a therapist. Having always felt the longing to help people, Jessica thought she was going to be in the medical field. But she has been told her whole life what a good listener she is and she started to think of other ways she could help people. Jessica is not only a caring therapist but she, as the Assistant Clinical Director, is also helping students at Colorado Christian University become therapists! Jessica considers it a great honor to help people on both sides of “the couch”. She is proud of being one of few in her family to take her schooling to this level of degree – which took much longer and was much more rewarding than the large “chubbiest baby ” trophy she has at her house. Oh the things our parents do to us. Her favorite thing about her job is being blessed with the sacredness of people sharing their innermost stories and being present in the journey to her client’s healing. Her mantra that would fit in her personal and professional life is – “tomorrow is another day”. Which takes us back to the start of her being a hope holder and providing a safe place for her clients to ENVISION and create their new future.
Jessica is for all intents and purposes a newlywed and a happy fur mom to terrier princess Poppy. What gets her moving in the morning? PANCAKES. But, she also is an advocate for self-care and exercising – after all she says – “a Jessica at rest stays at rest, but a Jessica in motion stays in motion”. Guilty pleasure? ALL THE DESSERTS. Which makes sense given she said in another life she might have been a baker like her grandma. While Jessica finds baking nostalgic, she also finds the alone time therapeutic and loves the ta-da presentation moment. It seems she fits in with her favorite TV show chef character Monica from FRIENDS….I mean “I KNOW”?! (say that in your best Monica voice). She also spends her down time enjoying being the hostess with the mostess and entertaining along side her husband for their friends and family. Jessica’s recharge moments are often spent walking Poppy with her husband Ollie along her neighborhood trails in her native home of colorful Colorado.
