Michelle’s high school psychology teacher would be so proud to know the spark that happened in that class. The spark that has led to a career of not just the study of human behavior, but a career of serving others. Michelle has always been told that she has a warm, inviting, calm and nurturing personality. That has blended into what she considers to be a blessing of getting to do what she loves. She gets to come alongside the hurting and support them in their pain. She gets to be her client’s trusted confidant and give them the skills needed to build flourishing relationships in all parts of their lives – even if it is with themselves. She can nurture while building strength. She can be warm, but persistent in getting her clients to get to roots of unrest and pain. The favorite part of her job is watching her clients begin their journey and then celebrating the end of that journey and all of the beautiful progress in the middle. Having a flexible schedule is a just a blessing bonus on top! The only other thing she would think about doing for a career – working in a high end spa facilitating ultimate relaxation for the mind, body and soul. Similar end games yes? Like any other human, a therapist needs to have a mantra, a personal motto and Michelle’s is applicable to all of us – “one day at a time”.
Michelle and her husband Jason are an Envision Counseling Clinic matchmaking story! Introduced by our very own Jessica Vaeth (now Jessica Snedker), who met Michelle at CCU. Michelle and Jason spend their off time doing ministry work for their church. Michelle is on the leadership team for the women’s ministry and also occasionally preaches. That’s only when they aren’t gushing over their darling chocolate lab mix Peyton. If you need a testimony for advocating the purchase of pet insurance – Michelle can oblige. Ok, on to the juicy stuff – Michelle likes reality TV – Selling Sunset is a binge-worthy fave. When asked for a favorite quote from a TV show or a movie, Michelle couldn’t pick just one. We concur wholeheartedly. And just so we’re clear…yes we did and there is definitely a chance….for this being an awesome interview!
“Did we just become best friends?!?” – Will Ferrell, Step Brothers
“So you’re sayin’ there’s a chance…” – Jim Carrey, Dumb and Dumber
